The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is located on 98 acres. Home to over 230 different kinds of animals and 1,200 species of plants, the museum is a fascinating attraction whose goal is to pique guests’ curiosity about these plants and animals and the natural history of the Sonoran Desert. Founded in 1952, the museum consists of an aquarium, an art gallery, lush botanical gardens, a natural history museum, and a zoo. Visitors can spend time exploring two miles of walking paths that wind their way through the desert habitat. Some of the exhibits include the Cat Canyon, Desert Grassland, Desert Museum, Life on the Rocks, and the Desert Loop Trail.
